frequently asked questions

  • What services do you offer?
My services boil down to two main categories; visual branding & web design. Visual Branding This includes all of the basic design aspects such as logo design, social media packages, business cards, branding guidelines, etc. Basically, everything your audience will see when they google your name, step into your store, or click on your instagram page. Web Design This is my specific area of expertise, as I majored in User Experience & Interface design throughout my Bachelor's. It essentially means that the online presence you have is precisely designed for your specific target audience. It also means that your website is streamlined to help get users from your homepage, into the purchasing page! ;) You can see my past projects on my portfolio page!
  • What products do you sell?
If you're not keen on committing to hiring my services, or are looking for something a little more budget friendly, I do offer an array of digital products for you to utilise! They vary, but include things such as: UX toolkits; buttons, paragraph breakers and other digital elements to use on your own websites. (Compatible with sites like Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, etc.) Stock packs; a pack of digital elements such as illustrations, icons, patterns, etc. You can print these out to scrapbook with, or use these as digital pieces on your website or instagram page. Journalling kits; printable planners, trackers and embellishments for you to not only survive, but thrive! You can browse what I have available in my shop!
  • Where are you based?
I'm based in Melbourne, Australia! So please bear with me if you intend to contact me from the other side of the world, I promise I'll get back to you as soon as I can! (I'm litewally just a giwl)
  • How much experience do you have?
On top of having my Bachelor's in design, and currently obtaining my Master's I've spent the last 4 years freelance designing smaller projects, and spent some time working overseas as a User Experience designer. (I'll give you a discount if you can guess where) ;) Party Animal Design was created with the intention of broadening my design scope, gaining important industry connections, and finally make a living for myself in my field, a dream I have wanted for sooo many years!
  • What do you look like?
Haha... who's asking... 👁️👄👁️ Lol no jokes, I keep my face off of my platforms for safety reasons. I have poster advertisements around Melbourne advertising my services, and as a woman I feel much safer knowing that anyone who scans the QR code on those posters, or stumbles upon my instagram posts doesn't have access to all my personal information. If you require my services and would prefer to zoom or face time there's truly no issue, as I do my due diligence to make sure my clients are safe & cool people! :)
  • What kind of people do you work with?
I work with just about anyone! I tend to cater my services and products to small businesses, small events & self employed people such as influencers or other freelancers. However, if you would like my services for a project and don't fall under those categories, I promise you that I won't reject your offer. If you have a concern, question or would like a quote, you can email me and we can have a chat! (I promise I'm a cool person...)
  • I'd like to hire you, now what?
Yayy!! Okay first step is to reach out to me, you can do that by email (partyanimaldesign@gmail.com) or through the contact page. Let me know exactly what you'll be needing from me, your budget and your time frame. I'll get back to you as soon as you can so we can chat! :)
  • What do you charge?
It really depends on the scope of the project. I'm still a student so I may be a little cheaper than a lot of the full-time designers you'll find in the industry. For example, graphic design projects would generally be cheaper than UX/UI projects, as this is what I have the most amount of expertise in. The best way to get an estimate is to reach out for a quote through out contact page- and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
  • How does a typical project take?
Like I've mentioned, it heavily depends on the scope of the project. For example if all you need is a logo, I'll see when I can schedule the project in my calendar, but it won't take much time after that. However, if you were keen on everything from logos, branding, website, etc, we're looking at a much longer process. I won't ever want to rush a project, as a designer I see far too often people who create things just for the sake of creating things, and don't do their due diligence when it comes to research, iteration & testing. This is on top of the fact that I'm also a current master's student, so my time is precious (queue smeagle impression). Like most of the points in this FAQ, the best thing to do if you need specifics is to reach out through our contact page, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
  • Do you require a deposit?
Yes! Party animal design takes a 50% deposit upfront and 50% upon completion. Please reach out if you have any concerns!
  • What if I need revisions?
There is no issue with that! In fact, all clients receive 2 free revisions with all projects when working with me! If you ever need any more than this, it can very easily be arranged! Depending on the project each revision can range from $50-$150. Details like these are clearly outlined in our client contracts when I begin working on the project. Feel free to reach out if you have any concerns about this!
  • What platforms do you use for web design?
Great question! I've dealt with my fair share of website creation platforms, and I'm being completely honest when I say my favourite to use is WIX. I'm a long-time user, and as a designer, I find the platform most amenable to customisation and small changes. However, I also have experience with similar platforms such as Squarespace, Weebly & Shopify. It all really depends on your skill levels and needs. The only platform I will say no to would be Wordpress. By god will that platform be the death of me. The only times I will accept a client that uses Wordpress would be when I am transferring them to a more user friendly platform such as WIX, Squarespace, etc. I also realise there are a large variety of different website hosting platforms for different industries. I'm a fast learner, so let me know what you're working with and we'll go from there!
  • Can I hire you to do ongoing work or maintenance?
Abso-fruit-ley you can!! Let's organise the kind of on-going work I would be more than happy to provide into our two categories of services: Visual Branding There are a limited amount of on-going brand design services that party animal design provides. For example, we won't be able to provide content creation, or consistent design projects within this realm. Party animal design is a team of one, (me), and as much as I want to do all the projects you want me for, I'm more than happy to pass projects like these to people with the man-power and experience for these kinds of services. However, it doesn't mean that all on-going brand design services are off the table, so reach out to me and let's chat about what you're looking for! Web Design (UX/UI design) There are an array of reasons you may need on-going support for your website. This might be general maintenance such as noticing glitches, bugs or arising technical issues. It may also be related to your business, for example maybe you want a Christmas themed home-page for the upcoming season, or you have regular drops of new designs for your fashion brand. Additionally, because my expertise lie mainly in User Experience design (on top of the fact that I'm a big research nerd 🤓), I can also offer you services that include continuing to update your website based on the data left by users. For example, if your goal is to increase your email list, using the data tracked by the platform (Squarespace, Wix, etc.), I would be able to help you reach goals like these, by creating changes to your website, to streamline the user experience from the google search page to the 'sign up' button on your website. Prices for these kinds of services depends on the kind of projects you're looking for. So, if you'd like to know more about any of the services here, or would like a quote, reach out and let's chat!
  • What if I don't like what you designed for me?
I promise I won't be upset!! Please let me know if you're unhappy with any of the services and we can organise revisions depending on the scenario! You can see more details in the revisions section.
